Many consumers prefer to shop for high-touch and expensive products in stores where they can feel items and talk in person with a sales associate. Emarketeer talks about this study from Universal McCann which points out how travel and consumer electronics items are most researched online and then bought offline. tendency of users to research can be used very effectively by marketeers since at the point the consumer is researching the product at the same point the marketeer should target his offering to the customer which would make his advertising extremely effective. For example when a person is researching on insurance at Google he is more likely to respond to an ad on insurance and thus turn into a lead.
