iPerceptions Inc a Customer analytics company is out with a research on which online advertising methods are most popular with consumers. The results are based on user-generated feedback from over 14,000 visitors to leading media sites during the month of August 2008
  • 25% are likely to click on simple text ads
  • 20% are likely to click on display ads follow
  • 20% are likely to click on right banners
  • 12% are likely to click on top banners
  • 11% are likely to click on video ads mostly in below 25 year demographic
Some other detailed insights are
  • Ad clicks come from repeat visitors , 65% of consumers likely to click on online ads are weekly or daily browsers, and only 15% are first-time visitors and 6% are sporadic visitors.
  • The likelihood that a person will click on an ad goes down as their income rises. On average, 40% of consumers likely to click on any ad make less than $50K a year – and only 15% make over $150K
