Can you promote an ageing government owned airlines by using a young happening brand ambassador without improving on the core service offering and without caring for customers well it seems unlikely to me but Air India seems to think so. Just a fact check one of my acquaintance told me a story about how Air India has a flight to India from South East Asia which hasn't flown for 2 years but only shows a status of canceled but Air India not only keeps the flight, but also issue tickets and when customer shows up then transfer customer to another airlines so that they can keep the slot and not bother as to what customer has to go through.
