HUL has really gone overboard with viral marketing with this Silky Kumar video scent of desire campaign for MTV.Well if you are tuned to MTV you would have chanced upon this rather cheap video of silky kumar called Scent of Desire which is playing quite regularly on MTV. Now here is trick its not a video by some artist but it is part of a viral campaign by Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) formerly HLL for its brand AXE.They have even built Silky kumar's profile on Orkut and have posted Youtube videos showcasing gud use of social media marketing however i think they went overboard by posting fake messages from girls on the video on Youtube saying how much they like silky kumar and how hot is silky kumar just in effort to make their campaign more viral.
They were trying to keep it a secret but ConceptualAura discovered it and then went on to receive a threat from the agency for exposing it. HUL had already done the same tactics with a better song called FridayNight fever on MTV which was the promotional theme for LUX's new soaps and also had a microsite around it Here is the Silky Kumar video in case you have missed it
